Most wood floor pros have seen grain in a board that looks like a face or an animal, but Lou Connatser of Connatser Wood Floors LLC in Greensboro, Md., had a customer who saw something out of this world:
"Many years ago we got a call to come back and look at a job we had recently finished. When I got there the lady showed me a spot in the grain of one board that looked just like ALF from the TV show. She begged me to do something with it because she hated ALF! The only thing I could think of without replacing the board was to sand it down till the grain changed some. After I stained and refinished the area, she was happy, but to me it now kinda looked like Sid the sloth from the Ice Age movies. LOL!"
