A tornado spurred by Hurricane Florence in Midlothian, Va., leveled the headquarters of Old Dominion Floor Co., and left one employee dead in its wake.
Ronnie Bishop, 60, a 15-year veteran of the company and its hardwood floor supervisor, was crushed Sept. 17 when the warehouse collapsed from the 120 mph winds of the tornado, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported. Just before the collapse, he’d gone into the warehouse to make sure his 14 co-workers were safely evacuating to an adjacent office. All of the other employees survived.
